Obama and Romney are gearing up for the presidential debate marked for October 3rd. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Obama can get off topic and just keep going when he speaks about something. He can also gaffe at times where it should not come out. Romney can lose his cool and say things that he shouldn't and he also has a gaffe problem. He constantly reminds people of his wealth and the secretly recorded tape of the "47%". Obama can keep his cool while Romney is aggressive. Obama needs to be unpredictable and throw Romney off his script while Romney needs to be aggressive and get under Obama's skin.
Both Obama and Romney are getting ready for the debate. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. This debate can make or break anyone of their presidential runs. The author hits cords on both Obama and Romney, he is basically neutral but he tended to talk about Romney's weaknesses more than Obama's weaknesses.

The Block
9/28/12 By Rachelle Younglai
President Obama, on Friday, blocked a privately owned chinese wind turbine company from building a turbine close to a US air base."There is credible evidence that leads me to believe" that Ralls Corp, Sany Group and the two Sany Group executives who own Ralls "might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States," Obama said in issuing his decision. The company is called Ralls Corps and they filed a lawsuit against the block that president Obama issued. The president rarely calls blocks upon companies from other countries. The only other time was in 1990 where George Bush stopped a chinese aero-company from acquiring a US manufacturing company.
Obama is showing what he needs to do with foreign companies as he should be doing. He is regulating what foreign companies can do and is showing that he can do it to the public. Mitt Romney stated that he is too soft on China. The article shows that Obama can bring the hammer down on foreign companies when he needs to. The author is neutral in the article.

The Real Problem
9/20/12 By Devin Dwyer and Emily Friedman.
Obama said "The most important lesson I've learned is that you can't change Washington from the inside. You can only change it from the outside." He is saying that he cannot change the politics in Washington but the "outside", or the people, can change Washington. He says if he is elected in a second term, he would maintain "a much more constant conversation with the American people" to spur support from congress. Romney then went on an offensive saying that Obama could not change Washington from the inside and won't be able to change it later. "His slogan was 'Yes, we can.' His slogan now is, 'No, I can't,'" said Romney. Romney then goes and says that he can change Washington from the inside and the time for a new president is now. Obama has been saying that "Change" can be gained by pressure from ordinary citizens. Obama states "As citizens, we understand that America is not about what can be done for us. It's about what can be done by us, together, through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self-government," rallying the people to stand and fight the government for their rights.
The point of taking stand and getting what you want from the government is whats at stake (freedom of speech).
The authors stay in between but lean a bit more on Obama it seems with the last paragraph of the article that says people need to band together to get what they want. If people were to read this article, they would maybe change their mind on who to vote for. It could be Romney saying he could change Washington from the inside or it could be Obama who states that he needs to work with the people so the people can get what they want.

More Than 1, Longer Than 4
9/22/12 by David Jackson, USA Today.
Obama addresses 18 thousand people at Milwaukee about fixing the economy. He states that it takes more than one term to fix the economy and goes back to his first term promise of 1 million new jobs. Obama said that this election could break his frustration that he has had with Washington. "We've got what it takes to succeed," Obama said, "but what's preventing us from realizing that potential is the politics in Washington. Part of what this election is about is giving people the voice to break that deadlock. It may be harder, but it leads to the better place." Obama says that Romney's plan is to give tax breaks to the Wealthy and give budget cuts to the middle class. Obama's ideas are to raise taxes on the wealthy and maintain government spending on education and energy.
Obama wants to keep his promise and add more jobs, he states that the politics in Washington are holding some of his policies back, and he wants to strengthen the middle class while having the wealthy pay a bit more in taxes.
The author did not take a position and decided to stay in between. This article could impact on what people think of Obama. They say he could not keep his promise in his first term and now deem him "not trustworthy". They expected too much, but then again, Obama did promise too much and bit off more than he could chew. This article may bring back the hope that some people lost in Obama.
