10/26/12 By Chris Moody
Cleveland, Ohio was Obama's last stop on his tour through the swing states. His speech was the same as the other speeches he delivered in the other states, just a bit more tired. Towards the end of his speech though, he changes his tone. "Look, Ohio, I know we've been through tough times," Obama said. "Every
day I think about everybody out there across the country who's still
looking for a job...whose homes may be still under water or at risk of
foreclosure. The folks out there who at the end of the month are sitting
at the kitchen table trying to figure out, How am I going to make all
these bills? Michelle and I understand it, because we know what it's
like to have a tough time sometimes." Ohio has a 9% unemployment rate and is slowly recovering from it. He encouraged voters to vote early and even had banners that said in capitol letters "VOTE EARLY". He also talks about "Romnesia" and talks more of women's rights as Romney wants to make abortion illegal even if it involved rape. "I don't think any politician in Washington, most of whom are male,
should be making health care decisions for women," Obama said in Tampa,
warning that Romney would "turn back the clock 50 years for women."
The author is only stating facts about what Obama said and what his spokes people say. He does not choose a side in the article he wrote. If people were to read this article, I believe it could change the voters mind completely. The reader would see that Obama can relate to regular citizens while Romney cannot and that Obama is fighting to keep women's rights while Romney is trying to take it away using "Religion" as his excuse.

Romney "For Change"
10/26/12 By Holly Bailey
The last week of Campaigning for the candidates, Romney casts himself as an agent of "change", taking from Obama's 2008 campaign. He repeatedly points to his record of governor of Massachusetts and his leadership of head of 2002 Olympic games. He insists that Obama did not inherit a troubled economy but did not do enough to help the economy and it then went down the drain. Lis Smith, Obama's campaign spokeswoman, refutes it by saying Romney is using "Dishonest attacks" and giving empty promises. "The only change Romney's offering is to take us back to the same failed policies that crashed our economy in the first place," Smith said. "That's not the change we need, and with every 'major speech,' Mitt Romney just reminds voters that's all he's got to offer."
The author seems to back Obama in this article. She states that he repeats points on his record of being a governor and head of the 2002 Olympic games. She even called Romney's speeches a "stump speech" saying he does not explain any of his plans and only mentions them. I do not think this article would change people's minds on who they would vote for since this article has more of the author's points of views instead of just information.

Defecting Voters
10/20/12 By Gabriel Debenedetti
Some McCain voters of 2008 have chosen to vote for Obama in the 2012 elections. Most of which are older white males. They believe that Obama "has done a good job with what he was left with, and I truly believe that allowing Mitt Romney in there is going to make the world a whole lot worse than it is now."a voter named Waltrip stated. Others believe more in character as William Holliday states "Right now if I had to choose it would be Obama, because he's more personable," said William Holliday, a 58-year-old retiree from Convis Township, Michigan. "Romney has changed his position so many damn times, you don't know what he thinks at all. But they're both liars." These voters seemed to pick the candidate that could relate with them more.
The author leans toward Obama more since he states what some older citizens think about the candidates. If people were to read about what some other people think their own honest opinion about the election, it may make them think it over as to who they want to win the election and run the US. People should think about who they really want and think what both candidates can actually give to the US if they were president.

Gas Prices
10/19/12 By Rick Newman
Gas prices have been slowly falling this fall. This could give Obama a lead in the polls of swing states. The prices of gas in some swing states have fallen about 10 cents as the average gas price in the US is $3.72. Gas prices has an effect on consumers.Another thing that is helping Obama in some swing states is the falling unemployment rates in those swing states. If Obama can hold Ohio, he only needs a few more swing states to win the election. If Romney can win Ohio, he needs to show a better standing for the swing states to win the white house.
The author doesn't seem to pick a candidate but leans more toward Obama. The lowering gas prices and unemployment rates may lead Obama in the polls. If people read this article, they would see that what Obama has been doing for the past 4 years has NOW taken affect and is slowly leading the US down to higher employment rates and lower gas prices.

Joe "The Joker" Biden
10/12/12 By Liz Marlantes
Joe Biden smiled a lot during the debate against Paul Ryan. It seems he may have had a deeper meaning to his madness than meets the eye. It was not only to re-energize dispirited liberals, but also to set the stage for Obama's next debate. Biden was aggressive and taking his actions over the top, he may have gave Obama a little more room to emote. This could be the chance Obama needs to procure his seat in the office. Biden gave Obama a road map to attack Romney-Ryan (abortion, tax, foreign policy). Biden took one for the team and hopefully Obama follows up on it.
The reason why Biden acted like he did was to give Obama more room to become aggressive against Romney in the next debate. Biden gave Obama a chance to redeem himself in the next debate but also made himself look like a rude bastard. If Obama can follow up on what Biden has left him with, Obama can maybe win some votes from undecided voters and gain ground over Romney-Ryan.

Winner of the V.P Debate?
10/12/12 By David Rothschild
Both campaigns declared victory after Thursday nights VP debate. Immediate polls on CBS, NBC, and Xbox Live report that a majority of undecided voters thought Joe Biden won the debate against Republican VP Paul Ryan. Everyday that goes in which Mitt Romney does not gain ground is a net gain for Democrates. Romney succeeded in doing this with his first debate against Obama. It was Joe Biden's debate that redirected many of the voters who were going to vote for Romney change their vote.
I believe that knowing how the debate goes can lead to a large shift in voter's choice. It can change about 5% of the voters minds which can effect a close campaign. Most of the time, the debates do nothing to drastically change where the votes are heading, but in this case, Obama and Romney are closely matched in votes and the debates can lose or receive votes.
